Two courses comprise of the Television Production Program at Perth Amboy High School. They are "Introduction to Television Production" and "Advanced Television Production." Below is a description of each course and the NJCCCS.

Introduction to Television Production:

Course Description: Students will learn the basic skills of television production including camera operation, lighting, sound and the basics of Final Cut Pro. This course is designed to familiarize students with the processes and tools associated with Television Production. Special emphasis is placed basic preproduction skills, production techniques and postproduction procedures. Television Production Foundations prepares students to enter the Broadcast Journalism Course.

Advanced Television Production:

Course Description: Practical application, television and new media journalism techniques; and the handling of news and information in society. This is also a lab course to produce live television programming and examine the various components of news producing. Students will learn news directing and editing techniques.

·         10 – Minute Weekly News Show

·         30 – Minute Monthly News Show (PATV Student News – airs on Perth Amboy’s local access channel).
